We publish our prices because builders want to know what a job costs before they ship it. Most automotive crankshaft regrinds run between $180 and $260, depending on the engine.
Jobbers and engine rebuilders get special pricing. Call 248-313-9685 for custom grinding, welding, stroker work or high performance cranks.
Prices are for a normal regrind. Magnaflux and welding are not included. Exchange crankshafts are available at no extra charge with an acceptable core.

Can I ship my crankshaft to you from out of state?
Yes. Crankshaft Craftsmen accepts shipped-in crankshafts from anywhere in the United States. Call 248-313-9685 before you ship so we can confirm the work and pricing, pack the crank securely, and include your name, phone number, return address and the work you need. How much does crankshaft grinding cost?
Most automotive crankshaft regrinds cost $180 to $260. A 4 cylinder is $180, a Chevy small block or LS is $220, a big block is $230, and a Ford 6.0, 6.4 or 6.7 diesel is $250. Single cylinder small engine cranks are $130. Magnaflux and welding are extra. See the full price list.
How long does crankshaft grinding take?
Typical turnaround is 1 to 3 days once your crankshaft is in our shop, depending on the work needed. Welding, balancing and custom work can take longer. Call for current lead times.
Do you offer exchange crankshafts?
Yes. Exchange crankshafts are available at no extra charge when you turn in a core that can be reground without welding. Cores with cracks, stripped threads, broken bolts, sheared keyways or that need excessive welding are not accepted. Replacement cores are available, call for pricing.
Can a damaged or worn crankshaft be repaired?
Often, yes. We weld worn journals, thrust surfaces, snouts, keyways and seal surfaces, then regrind to size. We recommend Magnaflux crack testing first, since a cracked crank should not go back in an engine.
