Crankshafts Since 1962

Crankshaft Craftsmen has been part of the Detroit area engine building community since 1962. The Motor City is where America's engines were designed and built, and it is where we set up shop to do one thing exceptionally well: crankshafts.

We are a family business. Engine builders, machine shops and mechanics have trusted us with their cranks for decades, and many of our customers have been sending us work for 30 and 40 years. That kind of loyalty is earned one crankshaft at a time.

Quality Before Quantity

Our motto is on our logo for a reason. Many machine shops treat crankshaft work as a sideline. For us, it is the main event. We stay focused on crankshafts so we can stay sharp on the details that matter: journal size, finish, fillet radius, balance and getting the job right the first time.

Our Novi Facility

Our newest shop at 22635 Heslip Dr. in Novi, minutes from Detroit, is stocked with crankshaft grinding, welding and balancing equipment, plus CNC machining centers, a CNC lathe and a CNC laser for custom parts. Stop by Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 5 PM, and see it for yourself.

Known Across the Country

Local builders drop off cranks at our Novi shop, and engine builders, racers, restorers, diesel owners and golf cart fleets in other states ship their crankshafts to us for the same quality work. Wherever you are, we would be glad to grind yours.
