Diesel Crankshaft Grinding Done Right
Diesel engines put enormous cylinder pressure through the crankshaft. Out of round journals, poor finish or a missed crack can take out bearings and the block. We inspect every diesel crank, crack test it, grind journals to the correct undersize and finish them for proper bearing contact.

Diesel crankshafts are heavy. Crate them or strap them to a pallet so they cannot shift, and protect every journal. Our shipping guide covers the details.

How much does it cost to grind a Ford 6.0, 6.4 or 6.7 diesel crankshaft?
A standard regrind on a Ford 6.0, 6.4 or 6.7 Power Stroke diesel crankshaft is $250. Magnaflux crack testing ($110 to $140 for diesel cranks) and any welding are extra.
Should I crack test a diesel crankshaft?
Yes. Diesel cranks see very high loads, and Magnaflux testing is inexpensive insurance before you invest in grinding and a rebuild.
Do you grind tractor crankshafts?
Yes. We grind tractor crankshafts, including Ford 4 cylinder tractor engines (120, 134, 172) at $190. Call for other tractor and equipment cranks.
